In a recent movie, Sandra Bullock plays a lawyer who every time she is stressed, orders herself enough Chinese food for a whole family. While it makes for some funny scenes in the movie, in real life this kind of reaction to stress can be very damaging to our bodies and our emotions. Do you reach for "comfort foods" when you feel pressured? Does a box of chocolates soothe you when you have boy trouble like Reese Witherspoon’s character in Legally Blonde? Instead of turning to Ding Dongs or Kung Pao Chicken, adapt healthy strategies for handling pressures: exercise, write in your journal, and spend time praying and talking to God about your worries.
