Finding Truth using God's plan will heal and free us!
"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32)

TIME. Time is essential in getting to the truth. This means a commitment to setting aside time everyday to be alone with God.
"Listen to me. Keep silent and I will teach you wisdom!" (Job 33:33)

RELY. God will provide all the courage and strength you need to reach the truth. Turning our lives over to God is the beginning to understanding the love and power available to us through His Son, Jesus Christ. In relying on God, we can keep our minds clear from anxiety and fear about the search for truth in our lives.
"God gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." (Isaiah 40:29)

UNCOVER. The past needs to be dealt with in order to find truth. There are experiences in our lives that effect our behavior either in a positive or negative way. To be set free from the negative patterns, the feelings from these experiences have to be expressed. Do you feel guilt, resentment, fear? Examine these feelings and ask God for forgiveness. Forgive others and seek reconciliation. Pray about your fears and be honest with God about them.
"Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the LORD your God, am with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)

TOTAL RECALL. Review of your life, both positive and negative experiences, will help you learn about your strengths and weaknesses. This should be done with the help of a trusted Christian friend, adult, or parent. Focusing honestly on the good and bad of the past will help in the progress toward truth.
"Let us examine our ways and test them." (Lamentations 3:40)

HONEST. Honesty is essential in the search for truth. Ask God to help you be aware of true feelings, thoughts, motives, and bad patterns of behavior in your life. This will be of great benefit as only in facing these issues honestly can progress be made towards becoming clean and healed.
"The LORD gave us mind and conscience; we cannot hide from ourselves." (Proverbs 20:27)
