Did you know that music has the power to alter your mood? A recent stuAs time passes the word "simplify", seems to be more and more important. This would certainly be even more important as we approach the time of remembering the birth of Jesus. Perhaps, all we need to do is read and think about the word of Mary as a young woman who was chosen by God to be the mother of Christ. Luke 1:49-53
"For the Mighty One has done great things for me; and holy is His name. AND HIS MERCY IS UPON GENERATION AFTER GENERATION TOWARD THOSE WHO FEAR HIM. He has done mighty deeds with His arm; He has scattered those who were proud in the thoughts of their heart. He has brought down rulers from their thrones, And has exalted those who were humble. HE HAS FILLED THE HUNGRY WITH GOOD THINGS; And sent away the rich empty handed."
Mary was surprised by a visit from the angel, Gabriel, telling her that she had found "favor with God". Her response? Luke says she kept thinking about what this meant and replied, "I am the Lord’s servant. May it be to me as you have said." Luke 1:38 (NIV)
Amy Grant puts it this way in her song, "Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song)";
Breath of Heaven, Hold me together, Be forever near me.
Breath of Heaven, Breath of Heaven.
Lighten my Darkness, Pour over me Your Holiness.
For You are Holy, Breath of Heaven.
Let’s respond to the memory of His birth with our hearts full of love, and praise for Our Creator who gave up His throne in Heaven to come to earth "just to be with us" so that each day we can "simplify" our life simply by listening to Him inside of us.
