Hot or Not?

We asked several guys in middle school what they look for in a girl and here's what we found:

"Uh...Easy to talk to"
"Someone who is friendly"
"Fun"
"A good personality"
"Even if she's hot, if she doesn't have a good personality that's no fun- you're
not just gonna sit there and look at her"

Growing up with 4 older brothers was great and it made my relationships with guys in middle school, high school and college a lot easier! One of the best things they told me was to not make guys such a big deal! So often girls are so picky and only try to be friends with the perfect guy or they think they have to look totally perfect and have every hair in place before they even talk to a guy. Instead of worrying so much about what they think guys think of us or what we think of them, just get be friends with them. It cuts down on the stress, makes life a lot more fun, and it sure can't hurt. No one ever had too many friends. So what if he's not the best looking guy in school or you're not best looking girl in school. Everyone has something positive about him or her. Everyone has the potential to be a good friend. If you only talk to the most popular guy you may hurt yourself in the long run. There may be great guys who think you would never be interested in them because you only go out with the best looking, most popular ones.

So what do you talk about? Usually, girls talk lots more than guys. Girls generally have a higher need to talk and usually say more words per day than guys do. So, if you want to get to know the guy, make it easier for him to talk to you. Just have fun talking to him like you would talk to any other friend. Find out what he is interested in. For example, if a guy likes football, all you have to do is ask him about his favorite team and he'll probably tell you more than you want to know. Keep it simple. Relax, and have some fun! Instead of thinking you or he has to be perfect, or go out, just get to know him as a friend and enjoy the relationship!
