* Eat the things you like...in moderation
* Eat the 'luxury' items (deserts, sweets etc) in small amounts
* Increase water consumption
* Exercise regularly, do something every day
* Keep things in perspective

Keeping things in perspective is very helpful because there are going to be times where you eat too much desert, miss out on your workout and overeat, this is part of being an imperfect human being. The thing to remember is this: it's all ok, you can start over at any time, just let go and forgive yourself and get on with the rest of your day. This way your holidays can be filled with joy and you can focus on what the holidays really represent.
