How will this affect Rick?

We have an ongoing joke in our family that the world would be a better place if people would just stop to consider "How will this affect Rick?" Rick is my husband, the dad in our family. So, if there is slow traffic because of construction, someone might suggest, "Clearly they didn't consider how this would affect Rick!" If we drive to other side of town only to find the movie is sold out, again, they really ought to have considered how that might affect Rick!

Well I really do think the world would be a better place if we stop to think how our actions will affect, not just Rick, but all the important people in our lives, our friends and our family. It is easy to get stuck only thinking, "How will this affect ME?" Try thinking through, "How will this affect Dad?" "How will this affect my friend?" "How will this affect my little sister?" It may not be able to change traffic, but it may help avoid some major roadblocks in your relationships!
